Let’s be real – motherhood is wild and wonderful but somewhere along the way we lose a bit of us in the beautiful chaos of caring for kids. That version of ourselves who freely laughs, chats, and connects while doing something for THEM.
Like flamingos, we can lose a little pink after becoming mums. Fading to white as we pour so much love and care into those who need us.
Flock is here to help you get your pink back.
What is Join the Flock?
It’s for the mums that want fun stuff for them but want to bring their babies along for the ride.
At Join the Flock we believe that motherhood doesn’t mean losing yourself. Our events are designed to help mums connect, share experiences, and find joy for you in the everyday routine.
From engaging events to meaningful experiences and connections, we’re here to help you regain your pink and feel like there is something for you in the wonderful chaos of motherhood.
Come alone: Find your people
Come with a friend: Meet new people
Everyone is welcome: Join the flock
If there is one thing we have learnt - it’s much harder to do motherhood without your people.
Who am I?
Mum of two kids (3&5), Sydney-based now with 15+ years based in London working in events where I found the hubby and had my first bub!
Ailish was born in the 1st week of the London Lockdown in 2020 and that’s where my passion for bringing mums together began.
It was devastating having a newborn on the other side of the world, with no support and no access to family.
So, back in 2020 I started the Fly the Babies Home campaign to help Aussie mums connect during the London lockdown. It was the hardest and most rewarding time of my life.
The Fly the Babies Home community built in London as a connection point for Australian mums when they couldn’t get home to their people warmed my heart as much as it broke it.
For many years I have taken that warmth and feel so fond of the community we built.
What am I doing?
Five years on, two kids later and a very different second mat leave I realised the one thing that got me through… My people. The fun.
It got me thinking – what about the mums that don’t have that? What about the mums that do but have nowhere to go? What about the fact we are so tired we can barely order a coffee let alone organise something fun?!
I would see post after post on local groups of mums wanting connection or feeling like they had lost themselves…
And then I arrived upon my passion project, Join the Flock, a fun and uplifting community which hosts in-person engagement for mums. It isn’t a place you go to with your baby – it’s a place your baby goes to for you.
Join the Flock is different. It is about you.

Your Questions, Answered
-
The flocks are aimed at bringing along your 0-2 year old age group.
For safety reasons if the event activity is aimed at non-movers - it will list this in the details.
-
The only dress code is come as you are you will be welcomed with open arms if you only manage to rock up in your PJs or your having a great day for once and want to wear a ball gown. You do you.
I fully expect 90% of the flock (including myself) to be in activewear.

Nope! Only fun, upbeat music – you can have a break from Old MacDonald.

When I was thinking about this business it all started with, How do we feel like ourselves again when everything we do is tailored around our children? Not just nap times and feeding times, but outings and events that also fill our week.
How can I feel like me, when there is nothing for me?
I then read about Mumma Flamingoes. They have babies, then lose all the pink in their feathers as they give EVERYTHING to caring for their babies. As they start feeling more like themselves again they start to get their pink feathers back. It resonated so much! That is exactly what it felt like!
And that kicked off my brand and the thread to run through it all…

Yes! These events are for you but you bring your baby (or babies!) The Flocks (events) are focused on something for mums, something to mix up the week outside of park plays and baby-focused activities. Siblings up to age 5 are also welcome.
-
The events organised are for the mums. Something for mums to enjoy but babies come along.
I have shared many beautiful experiences with my children at indoor play centres and rhyme time. I’ve met many gorgeous mums running amazing activities such as messy play and sensory classes. (They have also all saved me many a time on those bleary eyed mornings!)
However, these events are different. These events are tailored to mums, they are about mums.

A sprinkling of nannies will be at the event to assist with the babies. The nannies will be available to assist if you need help holding or playing with them while you finish a sandwich or a sentence! If you would like to nip to the toilet by yourself! There will also be toys to help keep the babies entertained.
Mums, must not leave the venue and not leave the nannies in sole care of the children.

Events are run during the day either in the morning or the afternoon. Feel free to select an event day and time that suits you best!

We will be rolling out in the North Shore and Northern Beaches in the first few months. Hoping to get across Sydney and up the coast from June onwards. Please DM us - we would love to hear where our followers are from and arrange an event near you!
-
Absolutely! We cannot do it alone and want to reach and connect as many mums as possible! We have set up Flock Pop up Packs so you can easily become a Flock Ambassador to run events in your area.
Alongside supporting small business we would love to create roles for mums during school hours.
So please get in touch to have a chat!
hello@jointheflock.com.au - look forward to hearing from you!

The events are aimed at mums with babies 0-2.
However, we will always try our best to host events that will be suitable for siblings up to the age of 4. They are welcome to join with a valid ticket (snacks included) until sold out. Due to venue capacity limited sibling tickets will be available.
Due to safety reasons if the event is for age 0-2 only it will state it in the event description and tickets for age 3-4 will not be available for purchase.
We plan on running events soon that specifically include involvement for pre-schoolers - it will state it in the event description with no limit on tickets. Follow Insta and FB for updates!

We’re always looking to partner with sponsors or create opportunities to get your brand out there!
As much as possible, we’ll work with small businesses to create the event - the venue, the food and everything in between!
If this is of interest please reach out to hello@jointheflock.com.au and let’s get talking!
